Five stages, from how you teach now to verified practice
Approximately 8 to 10 weeks, at 2 to 4 hours per week.
Stage 1
Foundations
Where you meet the KTA+ approach to learning · inquiry, project-based practice and learner agency · and map how you already teach before you change anything.
You submit · The Formation Finder profile
Stage 2
Practice Labs
Short applied exercises where you design and test real learning experiences rather than watch someone else's. Everything you build here becomes portfolio material later.

Stage 3
Mentored Application
You apply the practice with real learners in your own setting and document what actually happened, including what did not work and what you would change.

Stage 4
Verification
Your portfolio is reviewed against the published rubric by a mentor who writes you specific feedback. If something does not yet meet the standard, you refine and resubmit.

Child safety

Every Institute mentor is selected against a written standard rather than a job title.

They have taught well online and mentored adults before. A mentor who cannot do all of that does not review your portfolio.
The Founding Cohort
Twenty to thirty people, and a reason for it
The first cohort is deliberately small — around 20 to 30 places. Not to manufacture scarcity, but because mentored review is done by people, and a mentor reviewing sixty portfolios is not reviewing any of them properly. We would rather protect what this credential means than fill a room.

Do I need to be a qualified teacher?
No. A teaching qualification is not required and it is not disqualifying. On the application it is an optional field, and it appears after the questions about your actual experience with learners.
